Life Is Hard AF Sometimes

Life is hard AF sometimes.⁣ Like, seriously SUPER hard.⁣ Almost everyone I know is dealing with something pretty tough right now.⁣ Chronic illness ⁣ Natural disaster⁣ Cancer⁣ Infant loss⁣ Systemic racism⁣ Chronic pain⁣ Death of a loved one⁣ Trauma⁣ Caring for sick parents⁣ Divorce⁣ Depression⁣ Homophobia⁣ Anxiety⁣ Job loss⁣ Seizures⁣ Major surgery⁣ Bankruptcy⁣ All very difficult, complicated, and very hard things.⁣ At some point in our lifetime, we will each experience significant pain and loss & it’s really easy to believe that we must: ⁣ ✅ Maintain an upbeat attitude⁣ ✅ Be strong⁣ ✅ Put on a brave face ⁣ 🛑 I’m here to tell you all that, YOU DON’T!⁣ 🙅🏻‍♀️You don't have to pretend everything is cool. ⁣ 🙅🏻‍♀️You don't have to ‘be strong’ if you feel like you’re crumbling.⁣ 🙅🏻‍♀️You don't have to keep a smile on your face if you need a good cry.⁣ Sometimes...the BEST thing we can do for ourselves in these times is to FEEL it, to absolutely lose ourselves in our grief 👇🏽⁣ It’s ok to: ⁣ 😡Get angry! Feel sad, frustrated, disappointed, heartbroken, or devastated.⁣ 🥺Reach out to a friend and let them know that we need them.⁣ 😢To tell our kids, "Mommy is sad right now."⁣ 😟To ask for a little help.⁣ We talk a lot about mindset, gratitude, and perspective in my proven program, Holistically Fit, but it's important to understand that having a healthy perspective doesn't mean not feeling emotions. ⁣ Legit-it’s the opposite. It's recognizing and allowing yourself to feel all of the feelings you need to feel, and then having the perspective to recognize that you won't feel that way forever. ☺️⁣ It's experiencing the grief first and then looking for gratitude & learning in each situation. ⁣ It's allowing yourself process your emotions in a way that feels good to you, NOT avoiding them for the sake of "staying positive." ⁣ If you or anyone you know is having a hard time right now, please take a moment to know (or let them know) that you don't have to be superwoman all the time. ⁣ Anyone else retiring their cape today? 👇🏽⁣
